I cant belive I didnt mention.... I got a new car. :) It is so much better on gas than the Passport was. I have had it about a month. Its a 2007 Chevy Cobalt. It only had 2300 miles on it when I got it.

I am still around. Just working ridiculous hours. I leave my house at 7:45 and don't get home until 7:15. I like the job, just hate the hours. I wont be able to do it forever. Nothing much new. I have developed an obsession for Gymboree clothes. I will have to come back sometime and post what Maleah has. It is insane what I have bought for her the past few months. More later. :)

A job

I went to the interview today for Childcare Network, and to put it politely I have decided that it is not the job for me. :) She said she was interested in hiring me as a trainer for their current staff. I see the need for the position there, but I don't want to be the one to take it. LOL The drive was awful, the center was not great, the staff were horrible, the pay was just OK. Just not for me. I got a call from the center that interviewed me on Friday and they offered me the position. I went ahead and told them I would take it. It's good money, nice people, nice center, good benefits, peaceful drive... why look any further? I just feel like this is the place for me. I am scared about the changes that are coming but I am excited at the same time. I am also using losing my job as a wakeup call to get my finances in order. I am using YNAB software to try to keep us on track as far as budgeting goes. The basic idea of the program is to live on your previous month's income instead of living paycheck to paycheck. I have to save a month's worth of income until I get to that point, but it will be great to know exactly how much money I have to work with for the month at the beginning of that month, if that makes any sense. Changes are coming. :) Hope it all works out!

On Wednesday I found that the daycare center where I work will be closing down. I have been there almost 8 years. It is really sad. I love my job and now I will have to find another job that will not be as easy and will not have my best friend and sister there. :( I had a phone interview yesterday morning for an assistant principal job at an academy. I think it went pretty well. She said they would be contacting me for an in person interview. Then I had an interview at a center about 45 minutes from home for a lead teacher position. Its a long drive but the director and assitant director were super nice and the center was awesome. They did not say for sure that they were going to hire me but I am 99% sure I have that job. They asked me "What would it take to get you to work here?" So that is a good sign. We also discussed pay and if hired I will be making $2 more per hour then I make now as Director. I have another interview on Monday at 1 for Childcare Network. We will see how that goes. :/

American Idol

One last thing. I am watching AI and Brooke White (who I am pulling for - see previous post) did very well. :) I hope I don't come to hate her. I really liked Chris Daughtry and then he started making me sick to my stomach. I also LOVE Josiah Leming. This is going to be a good year. There are some amazing singers!!! I like David Cook too. A lot. I was cracking up when he was singing tonight though. His tongue was blue. LOL And Angela Martin. She is awesome. But they cut her. :( And I can't believe it. I like David Archuleta. I don't love him yet but I do like him. Carly Smithson. I liked her, and then she sang 'Alone' and gave me goosebumps. So I love her now. Asia'h Epperson is awesome. And I like Amanda Overmyer. She might be a little much but I like her for now. And those are my thoughts on American Idol for tonight. LOL

While I am on the subject though, I have to add this video. HILARIOUS!

I got some new stuff today that I love.

This perfume smells sooooo good!

And my phone came. It's hot pink. And I like it. :)

And I also got a really cute hoodie that I love love love. It has thumb holes. LOL That is something we used to do in high school to our shirts. We cut our own holes because you couldn't find stuff with precut holes. I guess they are catching on. :) It's cuter in person. (And I just realized - this picture isn't the exact same one as mine. Mine has different colored circles. They are shades of blues and greens.)

I also bought me and Maleah matching sunglasses and mother/daughter bracelets.

I didn't want to say anything and I am not going to go into obsessive journal keeping mode (lol) but I have been back on a diet for one full week tomorrow. Can't wait to see how much I lost. This is the best time yet because Amy is doing it with me. I hope I can convince her to join the Y with me and that we will actually go. :) Here is a pic of tomorrow's lunch.

Chicken Pox & First Bento of the Year

Tre has chicken pox. It isn't very bad because he had the vaccine when he was little. He just has them all over his back and really itches. :( I won't go back to work until Monday and I should be doing something... but here I am, lying on the couch playing on the computer. :/

I did break out the Hello Kitty waffle maker I got for Christmas and made Maleah a cute little bento. First one of the year. Hopefully more to come.

Maleah had the most beautiful bedding on her bed, but she ruined it by cutting it, ripping it, coloring on it, etc.

I went to Wal Mart with this bedding in mind. We had seen it before and Maleah loved it. When I went back to get it I couldn't find it. I had given up and bought something else and then I found it in the clearance section. :D I got a great deal on it.

These are some magnets that I made for Ron for Christmas.

I made them from those perler beads that you put on a pegboard and iron together. The pegboard was tiny so I had to keep ironing it and then shifting it around. What a pain.

I'm still trying to decide if I should make more. I may add more to the Mario theme or I might do a Dragon Warrior set (his fav.) If I have time I also might make some Bubble Bobble ones for my sister.

First entry, interesting day

So this is one of many many blogs I have created. The difference in this one and the others is that this one is for no-one but me. I have always made blogs with other people in mind. I have always tried to make them about a certain topic. Usually dieting. This one is about whatever is on my mind. (My kids, my many failed attempts at dieting, bentos I make, crafts I may create, decorating I may do, things I want to buy, my ongoing struggle to keep my house in some kind of order, etc.)

First off on the way home from the mall today some asshole decided that he didn’t like my driving I guess, so he followed me all the way to the road my mom lives on. I pulled off on a side road and when he finally turned around I decided to follow him to his house. Not safe but I don’t think rationally when I’m pissed off. Once I flipped some guy off and honked my horn at him for passing me. When I got to the red light up the road he got out of his car and walked back to my car and stood by my window. He could have shot me. I have to be more careful.

Then on my way home I passed the McDonalds up the road and it was completely burning down. It wasn’t on the news but it was a HUGE fire. They had half the road blocked off and there were tons of firetrucks, ambulances, etc. I don’t think it will be opening back up any time soon. When I looked in the windows all I could see was black smoke.

Then I got down the road a little more, almost home and I saw about 10 or 15 more cop cars. They stopped me and I thought it was just a random license check but then I realized it probably wasn’t. There were like 25 cops standing in the road. They had all the surrounding roads blocked off. Then I saw an inmate transport bus. I think someone might have escaped or something. I have to get a newspaper.

Then I came home and watched the season finale of Kid Nation finally. I swear I don’t think I have ever cried like that watching a show. It must be my love for children. I cried so hard I could barely breathe. LOL I was proud of those kids like they were my own. I am going to miss that show.

I wanted to end with a picture of the adorable Hello Kitty bag my mom bought me for Christmas tonight but I couldn’t find one.

Tomorrow I am going to do the unthinkable, because this blog is for me. I am going to post pictures of this hellhole I call home. I would die of embarrassment if anyone saw my house right now. I plan on them being before pictures. I will have to get something accomplished tomorrow. Christmas is like 10 days away. I am off work until January 2nd and I don’t plan on going back with my house in this shape.
